🔞 The Guest | Choi Yoon x Hwa Pyeong - Gone (character death warning)

Choi Yoon and Hwa Pyeong meet when they are chasing the same demon that killed their families. Despite instant attraction, nothing ever really happens. Choi Yoon neither can or would, break the oath he took when he joined the church to become an exorcist. As time goes by and they become closer during the hunts, his resolve falters. However, right before he breaks, he learns that Hwa Pyeong was possessed by the demon they’re hunting and hence had killed his entire family years prior. Confusion and guilt haunts Choi Yoon as he tries to wrestle with his feelings, pushing Hwa Pyeong away in the process. Hwa Pyeong gets senselessly drunk after another one of their fights, and he ends up sleeping with some random guy he met at the bar, an incident which causes further rift between the pair. Unable to stay away from each other, they try to work their way through this but just as they seem to reconcile a particular bad case causes Choi Yoon to go into cardiac arrest — it turns out he has an undiagnosed heart condition.
